How to connect your custom domain with your 3LIT3 HUB
Have your students enter through your own brand, not 3lit3.io/a/your-brand. Full step-by-step, including automatic verification.
How to connect your custom domain with your 3LIT3 HUB
With your own domain, your students go straight to your brand (e.g. www.yourbrand.com) instead of 3lit3.io/a/your-brand. This feature requires the Pro, 3lit3, or 3mpir3 plan.
Before you start
You need access to your domain's DNS panel — wherever you bought it (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.). That's where you're going to add a record.
Step 1: Connect your domain
- In your HUB, open the App address module
- In the "Your domain" field, type your domain (e.g.
yourbrand.com) - If you type the "root" domain (without
www), the system will tell you it will connect aswww.yourbrand.com— this is a technical DNS requirement, CNAME records can never point to the root of a domain - Click Connect domain
Step 2: Add the DNS record
Once connected, your HUB shows you the exact record you need to add in your domain's DNS panel:
- Type: CNAME
- Host:
www(or the corresponding subdomain) - Value: the address your HUB shows you — copy it with the copy button, don't type it by hand
Go to your provider's DNS panel, find the records section (sometimes called "DNS Records" or "Zone Editor"), and add those three fields exactly as shown by your HUB.
Step 3 (optional but recommended): make it also work without "www"
If someone types your domain without www (e.g. yourbrand.com instead of www.yourbrand.com), you need a separate redirect. Your HUB shows you the exact destination URL. In your provider, look for an option called "Forward domain" or "Domain redirect" and point the root domain to that URL.
Step 4: Wait for verification
Your HUB automatically checks the status every 15 seconds while it's pending — you don't need to do anything else. You can also force a check with the "Verify now" button.
You'll see one of these statuses:
- Pending: the DNS record hasn't propagated yet or wasn't detected
- Verifying SSL…: the DNS was detected, the security certificate is being issued
- Your custom domain is active (in green): done, your students can now enter through your brand
A note on timing
DNS propagation can take anywhere from minutes to a couple of hours depending on your provider — it's normal to see "Pending" for a while. If it's still the same after several hours, check that you copied the record exactly as your HUB showed it, without extra spaces or characters.
What happens to your 3lit3.io link?
It never breaks. Even if you connect your own domain, 3lit3.io/a/your-brand keeps working as a backup.
